E-mail GeorgeHi, I'm George. In many ways I am like other 9-year-olds. I play soccer and am good at math. I love tacos and pizza, and I don't like broccoli or lima beans. One thing about me, though, is different from most 9-year-olds. I live on a farm where we have 70 Holstein dairy cows.

Living on a dairy farm is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work, too. I help my parents milk the cows, feed the calves and care for all of the animals when I can. My favorite thing to do is name the newborn baby calves. I have four of my own, whose names are Butterfinger, Buttercream, Butterfly and Brita. E-mail your questions about the dairy farm and I'll do my best to answer them.

E-mail George.

Dairy Farming TodayDairy farmers work hard every day to bring you fresh, high quality milk products. Almost all dairies are family-owned, and as active members of their communities, farm families take pride in maintaining natural resources. That means preserving the land where they live and work, protecting the air and water they share with neighbors, and providing the best care for their cows—the lifeblood of their business.
